Kart Show Rules
These Show Rules follow the philosophy of the VKCA Mission Statement by
respecting the historical significance of vintage karts and recognizing
originality of equipment
General
There
are three judging categories, Un-restored Original, Restored Original and
Modified that encompass the essence of vintage karts. A
Best of Show Award by people’s choice may be part of the vintage event as an
additional non-judged category.
Un-restored
Original
 | An
original kart that has not been restored

 | Original
tires or period correct tires
|
 | Original
upholstery desired over new material
|
 | Minor
touch-up to the original paint not exceeding 10% is acceptable
|
 | No
re-chroming or refinishing of metal surfaces
|
 | Engines
may be internally restored to factory specifications including over bore
|
 | Engines
may be repainted and have new decals
|
 | Engines
may be no more than one year newer than chassis
|
 | No
powder coating allowed
|
 | Three
period accessory items acceptable, such as gas tank, exhaust, etc.
|
Restored
Original
 | Restored
to factory appearance
|
 | Original
tires or period correct tires
|
 | New
upholstery acceptable
|
 | Re-chroming
or refinishing of metal surfaces to factory specifications only

 | Engines

Judging
A
panel of three shall constitute the official judges for determining the
eligibility and compliance of karts to meet the three categories and deciding
the winners.
Best
of show
This
is determined by people’s choice ballot and is a separate award.
It is given to the most popular kart by ballots from participants and/or
spectators at the vintage event.
Awards
Awards
of some nature may be given to the winners of each category.
Awards may be trophies, certificates, or other item signifying the win.
